1. Core Point: Local Data Processing

Protecting your privacy is our top priority. Unlike many other online tools, Picture Engraver is designed to keep your data local.

  • No Cloud Upload: Your images are never uploaded to our servers or stored there.
  • Browser-based: All image processing (dithering, quantization, vectorization) takes place exclusively in your web browser.
  • Offline Capability: Once the page is loaded, it no longer requires an internet connection for processing.

2. Hosting and Server Log Files

When you access this website, information is automatically sent to our website's server by your browser. This information is temporarily stored in a so-called log file.

The following data is collected without your intervention and stored until automatic deletion:

  • IP address of the requesting computer,
  • Date and time of access,
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file,
  • Website from which access is made (referrer URL),
  • Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system of your computer and the name of your access provider.

This data is used to ensure a smooth connection setup and comfortable use of the website as well as for system security. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 S. 1 lit. f GDPR.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

This website does not use third-party tracking cookies. However, we use your browser's local storage (Local Storage) to store the following information:

  • Your individual laser settings (power, speed, frequency).
  • Status of the onboarding tutorial (to avoid showing it again on every visit).

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing the browser cache / website data in your browser settings.

5. Donations via PayPal

If you decide to support our work with a donation, you will be redirected to PayPal. The privacy policy of PayPal (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A.) applies. We only receive confirmation of the payment and, if applicable, your name/email for a thank you note.
